QuickMemo! is a MacOS program that allows you to import text files from any Macintosh to the built-in Memopad of a PalmPilot. Just drag and drop text files onto the QuickMemo! icon to create new memos, then HotSync to see them on your PalmPilot. For Now Sync users, this allows you to use your Mac to create new memos, without installing Pilot Desktop! Features: Automatically breaks files up into multiple memos to fit the 4k limit Supports saving of new memos in a default category Optional marking of new memos as private Batch processing of multiple text files, or folders of text files Versions for both Pilot Desktop and Now Synchronize for PalmPilot and MacOS Requirements: Requires at least 400k-800k of free RAM to run Needs System 7.5 with AppleScript Pilot Desktop 1.0 or Now Synchronize for PalmPilot and MacOS NOTE: QuickMemo! and MemoExtract! are NOT compatible with Palm Desktop/MacPac v2.0. MemoExtract! Convert whole categories of memos to text files

MemoExtract! will allow the extraction of whole categories of memos at once, exporting them from any memopad.dat file to individual text files. Features: Export of all memos in one or more categories to text Separate versions for processing Pilot Desktop memopad.dat files and Now Synchronize memopad.dat files. Requirements: Requires at least 400k-800k of free RAM to run Needs System 7.5 with AppleScript Pilot Desktop 1.0 or Now Synchronize for PalmPilot and MacOS NOTE: QuickMemo! and MemoExtract! are NOT compatible with Palm Desktop/MacPac v2.0. You must have registered QuickMemo! MemoExtract! is a companion utility to QuickMemo!, and is available only upon registration of QuickMemo!

Important Notes:

---

• Pilot Desktop will change some byte values to "legalize" them for use with your Pilot. This may result in weird characters appearing in places where only spaces show up in a text editor. The spaces are actually not spaces, and will cause Pilot Desktop to replace them when you open your memopad.dat file again. This should not be a problem in most situations.
  

• Don't try to add new memos while the Pilot Desktop software is running. If you do, the Pilot Desktop will ignore them and restore the memopad.dat file to the way it was (or to the way it appears in the Pilot Desktop.) Add memos using QuickMemo! before or after you use the Pilot Desktop, not during.
  

• QuickMemo! does not make a backup of your original memopad.dat file at this time. You should make sure you make a backup by copying your memopad folder before installing and using QuickMemo! Under certain unforseen circumstances, you may experience data loss, so ALWAYS backup your important data.
